I am non-judgemental, empathetic and a really good listener. My approach is client led; what you want to talk about is important.
My reputation
I have built up a significant reputation as a well regarded counsellor in my local area of Hitchin, Hertfordshire. I often get referrals for counselling from local GPs and members of the clergy, and I work for the Employers Assistance Resources.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP and abide by its code of conduct and ethical framework. I am also a member of the Experienced Counsellors Network (ECN), which provides access to counsellors throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
My experience
My first counselling experience was as a volunteer at the Samaritans. I found it very rewarding to know that I was helping people in a crisis, but I wanted to help people to move on to resolving their problems. I spent the next 14 years as a counsellor with Relate, my private practice running in tandem during the last five years of my working with relate.

I am honest about how much I can help you, and about what you need to do to get where you want to be. But most of all, I will put you at ease. It is not unknown for my clients to laugh during their counselling sessions with me!
